Privacy Policy

Depending on how you use Fidoocia, we may process:

• Account information: name, phone number, email, and password (handled by our authentication provider).
• Information you submit: search details, identity information you enter or select, Date details (date, time, optional venue/location and notes), Fidoociary contact details you choose (name, phone, optional email and relationship label), Incident Report contents and supporting information, Missing Court Record reports, and similar in-app submissions.
• Search and Check information: the phone number and identity details used for a Check, selected identity records, and Check Results shown to you.
• Public-record and provider information: identity and criminal/court-record information returned by records providers and stored as needed to show Check Results and cached court lookups.
• Potential Dates and planned Dates: people you save as Potential Dates and Dates you plan with those people.
• Fidoociaries and Date Plans: selected trusted contacts and, if you explicitly share a Date Plan, the Date and Check Results information made available to those Fidoociaries inside Fidoocia.
• Incident Reports: reports you file and related review or publication of verified summaries where applicable.
• Technical and security information: account session information (such as authentication cookies) and other information reasonably needed to operate, secure, and debug the service.

Fidoocia does not import your full address book. Only Fidoociary contacts you explicitly select are stored. Fidoocia does not use location tracking, live check-ins, or emergency monitoring. Community Experiences are not collected until that feature exists.

We use information to:

• Create and authenticate your account with email and password.
• Provide Checks, Check Results, Potential Dates, Dates, and Date Plan sharing.
• Match a selected Fidoociary phone number to an existing Fidoocia account when possible.
• Receive, review, and where applicable publish verified Incident Report summaries.
• Receive Missing Court Record reports for internal review.
• Operate, secure, prevent fraud, and comply with law.

We share information only as needed to provide Fidoocia, including with infrastructure and authentication providers and public-records providers that return identity or court/criminal information for Checks.

If you explicitly share a Date Plan, the selected Fidoociaries can see that Date Plan inside Fidoocia, including available Date details, person information, and Check Results. Selecting a Fidoociary does not share anything by itself.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the security of the service or other people.

Fidoocia does not sell your personal information.

Fidoocia requires a phone number when you create an account. That number is account and profile information. It is not used for SMS authentication or verification in the current product.

Fidoocia may compare the normalized phone number of a contact you explicitly select as a Fidoociary against phone numbers associated with existing Fidoocia accounts. This matching happens internally to determine whether that contact can receive a Date Plan inside Fidoocia. Fidoocia does not provide a public phone-number directory or a general phone-number search.

Fidoocia does not automatically send SMS invitations from its servers as part of the current Fidoociary flow. If you choose to invite someone who does not have a Fidoocia account, your own device's messaging or sharing tools are used. That generic invitation asks them to create a Fidoocia account. It does not include Date Plan details or other sensitive dating or Check information.

We retain account, Potential Date, Date, Fidoociary, Incident Report, Missing Court Record, and related information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal requirements.

Some provider Check Results are cached for a limited time and then expire. If you remove a Potential Date or Fidoociary, we stop using that relationship for those features, subject to backups and legal retention needs.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, including authenticated access for private account features and restricted access to internal submissions such as Incident Reports and Missing Court Record reports. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

You may use Check without creating an account. Account features such as Potential Dates, Dates, Fidoociaries, and Incident Reports require sign-in.

You can update or remove some in-app information, such as removing a Potential Date or a Fidoociary from a Date you own. You can choose not to provide optional information such as Date venue, Date notes, or Fidoociaries.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to appeal a decision about your request. Contact us at privacy@fidoocia.com.

Fidoocia is a dating-safety service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a child, we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Effective Date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of Fidoocia after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
